Skiathos
Located in the verdant, green Sporades islands, north of Athens, Skiathos is the busiest of the Sporades Islands and likely to be the first port of entry to most visitors.
Skiathos is the most accessible and developed island in the Sporades, known for its long sandy beaches, pine-covered coastline and a lively, well-serviced main town. It offers an easy, straightforward holiday experience with organised beaches, efficient transport, plenty of accommodation, and a summer atmosphere that ranges from relaxed to energetic, depending on where you stay.
The island is compact, convenient, and ideal for travellers who want classic Greek beaches, good food, and simple logistics, without the harsher winds or rugged terrain of other island groups.
